Just a few new things...

So I thought I would take a few minutes and post a few pictures from this week. I got a hair cut and wanted to share and see what everyone thought. I'm trying to let my hair grow back out for some unknown reason. With it being 8000 degrees here, I'm not quite sure what I'm thinking!

I also wanted to share a few pics of the pups and Georgie. Redick is growing like crazy and changes so much every day. He and Riley are getting along so well and I'm just so happy they are friends. I really do have the cutest pups in the world! Anyway, here's the new pics. Enjoy!

The Beauty of Space

So here's a little known fact about me. I love to watch things that happen in space. Tonight was the annual Perseid meteor shower. The Perseid meteor shower has been observed for over 2000 years. It is one of the most beautiful things I've ever witnessed. Seth & I try to watch meteor showers every time we know there is one taking place. We've gotten up early to watch them before work and stayed up late to watch them at night. It is something that truly brings me happiness. Seth & I started this space adventure a while back when there was a red moon. I wanted to see it so bad and his house was the greatest place to see it. I remember telling him about it and then a few days later he mentioned that he had seen it while he was leaving for work. We finally got to see it together. It was so neat. After that anytime I saw that there was going to be some amazing thing happening in space, I made it a point to share that with Seth. We've watched several meteor showers together. It is always something that makes me think of my amazing husband. Tonight he was working so I had to watch it with my pups. I took a blanket out there and layed down on the ground with Riley on one side and Redick on the other. It was a beautiful show and isn't even over yet. If you have a chance next year, look for a place that is kinda outside of town, and watch this amazing display.

I love to cook!

So this week I decided that I was going to make pickle-o's. For those of you that have no idea what I'm talking about......

Our Sonic sells them and they are battered and fried dill pickle slices that you eat with ranch dressing. They are delicious! Seth's cousins, Tisha & Shannon, got me hooked on them when they were here a while back. Well Sonic requires me to get dressed, put the dogs up, drive into town....yada yada yada.....
So today I decided I would attempt to make them myself. So here's the recipe I came up with. Keep in mind I need to practice some more but they were amazingly good for my first try.

1/2 cup corn meal
1/4 bread rumbs (I use Panko)
1 cup milk
Pickle slices

I started my deep fryer so it would be hot by the time I got ready to fry the pickles. I mixed the bread crumbs and corn meal in a small bowl. Dipped the pickles in the milk and then battered them in the corn meal mixture. Then I fried them for like 1 minute maybe less.....it depends on how hot your grease is. I promise they are delicious!! You want them to be a golden brown color and it's normal for the pickles to be a tad bit soft. Enjoy!!

Here's a picture of the outcome......

Boys, Boys, Boys.....

So yesterday I had the privelage of meeting my two favorite little guys for breakfast! We went to McDonald's and they played, we made silly faces, and I even had some time to spend with my BFF! All you lucky people out there who have their BFF living within 30 minutes of you.....I am not your biggest fan! I only get to see Shawna and the boys once every few months because they live over and hour away from me. We talk on the phone and email as often as possible though. These boys are so fun to be with! This time Alex didn't want to tell me he loved me, until I threatened to kiss him! After they left me, he admitted to his Momma that he really does love me but he's a big boy......he's 5 folks, and already outgrowing the "i love you's" for his Nisa! Oh well, the little one still says he loves me if I just look at him and smile! Maybe he'll stay that way! Anyway, I thought I would share some of the silly faces we made and all the fun we had! Enjoy!!

So today we've had Redick 1 month. I can't believe that it's already been a month! He's growing so fast and is such a smart little guy! So today to celebrate having him for one month.....I bring you more pictures! Sorry I know I'm a little retarded when it comes to my pets.....they are my children though!
