Day 10

Today I would like to say how very thankful I am for my sweet friend, Liz. Elizabeth and I have been friends since I was in high school. She worked at my Mom's office and I remember borrowing dresses from her for formals I attended. We grew pretty close after I graduated. She got me started on yoga, taught me some life lessons, and most importanly....always gave me a place to land.

Over the last 2 years Elizabeth and I have grown so much closer. She's more like a sister to me and I don't know what I would have done without her this last year espeically. She was there to help me through all of my pregnancy, she did yoga with me to keep me limber and keep my hips open so I would have an easy delivery. She was there in the hospital for the entire delivery. She came and brought groceries while I couldn't get out because of the c-section. She still comes out and sees my kid on days when I'm exhausted beyond all belief. There have been days recently when he's been sick and she's come out to do things for me because I'm so tired and worn out from being up with a sick baby that I can't or don't have the energy to do them for myself. She talks me through things that bother me or upset me and helps me see things from a different perspective. She helps me to be a better person and she prays with me and for me daily.

She is the most giving and unselfish person I've ever met. To say she's a good friend is an understatement. She's one of the best friends a person could ever have. She is the type of friend that when she's your friend, she's in 1000% and she gives all of herself to that relationship. She's amazing and I'm so thankful for the friendship we have. I'm thankful that when I call she answers and always has encouraging words for me. So today, that is what I'm most thankful for.

So Elizabeth....I love you, Sister. Thank you for just being you and for always being there. I hope you know just how appreciated you are and how much you mean to me. I'm so glad that we have the relationship that we have.

Day 9

Today I'm thankful for friends that pray with me & for me. You guys know who you are. I hope you know just how much you mean to me. I know when I have trouble I can always count on you. And I also know that you are always praying for me when I don't "need" it as much too. So thank you guys. I appreciate you. And I'm so thankful to have you as my friends.....

Day 8

I'm thankful for laughter. Last night with all the storms rolling through we were up and down a lot. Talent didn't like all of the noise of the thunder or the rain beating down. He didn't sleep well. I finally just grabbed him and brought him to bed with us and he slept better.

I figured this morning he would be so cranky but we've spent most of the morning laughing and playing. I love the sound of his laughter. Since he came along there has been so much more laughter in our home. I'm so thankful to have it. It makes me so happy. Laughing is such a great thing. Such great medicine for the soul. I love that everything I do and Seth does is so funny to Talent. So today I'm so very thankful for laughter.

Day 7

Today I'm thankful that I live in America. I was driving to the store today with Talent and we were listening to a little Eric Church. He has so many great songs but there was one that had a line in it today that made me think of how lucky I am to be able to live the life I want. You know, in so many other countries women are treated so poorly. And people in general don't have the right to live how they want. I am so fortunate to get to live the way I want. I don't have to cover my entire body with a robe & drapes over my face....I can have opinions of my own and not worry about being hurt or going to jail. And I can believe whatever religion I want to believe in. I can read my Bible anytime I want and I can say and do as I please. I think being an American is pretty amazing. I'm thankful that I was born here.

Day 6

Today I am thankful that I live in Oklahoma and not California. We had an earthquake here last night and it was the weirdest and scariest thing I think I have ever experienced. We heard a noise first and then the house started shaking and so did everything in it. Being from Oklahoma I'm used to storm season and tornado season....I can live with that. We get some what of a warning before those. With the earthquake....it was here and gone before we could even realize we should be taking some kind of cover in a doorway or something. So today I'm glad to live in Oklahoma where this type of thing doesn't happen often and the quakes aren't as big as in California.
