RED!
The theme for this week is red. So I've chosen a picture of my son's toy fire truck. The reason is because it reminds me of my Pawpaw Bazil. I've had him on my heart and mind so much lately. Talent is turning one today and I know if my Pawpaw Bazil were here he'd be giving him a big fire truck with a picture of him taped to the drivers side window. We got one of those every single year for Christmas when we were little. I'd give anything if I could still have one of the ones he'd given me. But I don't. I do have the memories of it though. So that's my red for the week. Enjoy!

Already Gone
So, years ago I watched this show called American Idol. I watched along with the rest of the world (at least a good majority of it) as Kelly Clarkson sang her heart out and won. I, like the rest of the viewers, rushed out and bought her first cd. I have been a huge fan of hers since. I love her music. I listen to her all the time. For Christmas, my brother in law, Chase, gave me a gift card to Hastings. I went to get the newest Daughtry & Kelly Clarkson CD's. I have barely listened to the Daughtry CD because I am SO obsessed with the Kelly CD still. This song isn't off of the new album but it has been playing over and over in my head for weeks. I'm not sure why but it's there and it's stuck. Maybe I should take a look at the lyrics and see what they mean to me. I know what they meant to me a few years ago, but I'm not sure why they are stuck with me at the moment.
Anyway, here's one of my favorite Kelly Clarkson songs. I hope you enjoy it. It's not a peppy song, but it's still one of many of my favorites.

52 weeks project.
So last year I attempted a 52 weeks project with a friend. I didn't even make it half way through. I'd like to give it another go. So this time around I'm going to be doing it solo. To get this kicked off right, the first week is a self portrait. So here is me.....with my new hair cut and all.

And here is a list of all of the things that I will be posting....well, hopefully!

We'll see how far I get this time! I don't even remember how far I got last time, hopefully I can complete it this time! If anyone would like to join me in doing this just for fun, let me know. I have done music challenges like this before and they are always so much fun when you do them with people. But I don't mind doing this one alone. You'll get to see a bit of my creative side on some of these!

Second Place Ain't So Bad!
So a few weeks ago I blogged about the start of March Madness. I filled out my first ever bracket, I picked my teams, selected my final four, and decided who I thought was going to win the National Championship. Well my husband was so impressed with my picks that he entered me into a group of about 5 other people (all guys) online who were competing to win the bracket. I am proud to say I came in 2nd behind my husband! Second place! Seriously! For a girl who couldn't stand the game 9 years ago I'd say I have learned a lot! I'm proud to say the very least! Seth said that I was in the top 65% of the country with my bracket too! I am excited. And today, in my eyes at least, second place ain't so bad!

Just a girl and her new friends!
After the week I had last week, I needed to relax a little today! After I had Talent in bed for the evening I wandered outside to see what my sweet man was up to. He has been outside most of the afternoon doing yard work and other things. He LOVES being outdoors. So while out looking for that husband of mine, I noticed that my sweet cow "Knothead" and her new baby (that was born on Friday) were up close enough to the house that I could actually see it. I asked Seth if I could go ahead and feed the girls and he said he didn't care. So I whistled and here they came. Left Eye was leading the herd! She has been a very hungry girl lately and I think that is a sign that she is probably going to be a mommy soon. I fed the girls and talked to them. My husband stood back and watched and rolled his eyes. He finally asked me if I realized they aren't dogs and don't understand me. I think he is wrong. I think they are much smarter than people give them credit for. I fed the girls and even got to see Knothead's baby up close. I think it's another boy! Out of the 7 calves born out here, I know of only ONE girl. Whatever this calf is, it's beautiful! It's a dark gray color and it's coat reminds me of the color of deer for some reason. Anyway, I got a few pictures of it. I thought I would share the pictures that Seth took of me feeding my baby, Left Eye. I even got Daisy Mae in there. If you'll remember, she isn't my biggest fan, but she decided tonight that we might become friends after all! There is another cow in the pictures that is kind of a tan color and her hair is curly, I've named her Curly Sue. She has just recently decided that she likes me.
And just because it's been a while, I will even include a few pictures of my other two babies. I haven't posted pictures of their beautiful faces in a while so I might as well! I love them but getting them to sit still for more than five seconds lately is just as hard as getting Talent to sit still!
