It goes by fast....

So this week holds some memories for me. It's the 15 year anniversary of the OKC bombing and it's also been 15 years since 3 of my classmates were killed in an explosion in my home town. You know it's strange, it seems like just yesterday. I was in the 7th grade when both of these things happened. They happened in the same week. I can't believe that it has been 15 years. I remember going from class to class and just watching tv, just to see what the current world events were....the Oklahoma City bombing. I can remember my classmates crying. Some of them were worried about family members that were supposed to be up there that day. Others were just shocked and saddened that this was happening in our home state....right here in a city that we visited often. Those memories are very vivid. The other tragic events that I'm reminded of this week are those of 3 of my classmates that were killed in an explosion while riding thier bikes. I can remember seeing the smoke cloud on my way home from church. I can remember wondering what exactly it was..... I remember clearly the messages on my answering machine when I got home. As much as I would like to forget the words my friend Rachel said on that machine, I never will be able to. This week is always full of memories from the past. I always remember my 7th grade year, everything that happened that week. All the sadness, all the shock.....all those emotions. There's always one song I come back to every single time and it's the song they put in our yearbooks that year with our classmates pictures. I thought since this week I'm remembering all of this and also experiencing a new loss I'd share a song. I haven't shared lyrics in a while anyway. So here's the song that I always think of this time in April....

The Dance
Garth Brooks

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars alone
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have chanced it all

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance

RIP Laura....

Today I found out a good friend of mine was killed in a car accident lastnight. She was the first person I made friends with at my current job. She was spunky and fun. She had lots of attitude and I loved her. I'm gonna keep this short and just say that she will be greatly missed. She made me laugh when I wanted to cry, she was a good friend. I will miss her greatly. RIP Laura Miller.

Sweet......

You know how sometimes life gets busy and things that you would normally enjoy doing every single day you suddenly miss? Well this week I've been working in the wonderful land of Walmart. It's been a long week. I've been extremely tired by the time I have gotten home every night. I haven't been able to keep my eyes open long enough to watch my celebrity trash tv shows, Gilmore Girls, or even cuddle with my adorable puppy. I did take time last weekend to take some pictures of my adorable pup and since I've been home this weekend I've taken the time to cuddle up with him and watch tv. I've gotten caught up on all my reality trash tv shows and tonight I'm going to watch Gilmore Girls & The Ugly Truth. I'm excited that I have gotten to get caught up on everything. It's been nice to get to enjoy the cuddle time with my sweet pup. And before you ask, he was posing in most of these pics.....he's quite the ham. I know I should probably get a hobby and quit making my dog take pictures.....oh well, he likes it.

And just so you know exactly how sweet he is....here's a picture of him with his very best buddy, George. They sit and cuddle outside all the time. They play and chase each other around the yard and Riley is never mean to George. He's a very gentle, sweet, loving dog. Yes, I know he's just a dog, but he's my dog and I love him.

Opposites Attract...

So this week here's what's been on my mind. I am the luckiest girl in the world. In my opinion anyway. I know that I often talk about how my TV is going to be taken over by my husband because of basketball season and that he sometimes makes me crazy. But this week I was informed that two of my friends are getting divorces. One of those friends I never in a million years would have dreamed would go through something like this. From what I could see, they were made for eachother. Anyway, it made me take a long hard look at my relationship. I am so thankful for the man that I'm married to. He is the strength when I am weak. He's the one person in this world that I trust more than anything. I love him more than I could ever describe in words. I have thought alot about our relationship, how it started, how it has progressed over these last 7 years, all week. There's alot of things I haven't thought about in a very long time. I actually got out my wedding album this week and looked at it. I can remember how I felt that day. My heart has never been so full. I feel like I have been blessed beyond what I deserve sometimes. He & I are complete opposites. He likes the great outdoors and I like to be inside doing creative things or cooking. He likes to be very neat and orderly while I'm a little untidy at times. He thinks that mair and makeup are stupid and I think it's outrageous for me to go anywhere without it. We have so many different things that we don't always see eye to eye on. But the one thing that is always constant is how much we love eachother. He's the most amazing person I think I've ever been blessed to know. I'm glad that I can call him my husband.

A Little Dirt Never Hurt

So this week I decided to get my hands dirty and do some "spring cleaning" around this house. I convinced my husband to help me rearrange my living room. For those of you that don't know my husband, this was no easy task. I finally got him to help me on Friday. This was after I had attempted it on my own on Tuesday and he has no idea that ever happened.....let's keep it that way! Anyway I cleaned the floors, mopped, dusted, vacuumed, windexed....pretty much any kind of cleaning product that could be used got used. It looks alot better and I really like it. I can't wait to show it off.

Nothing else has really been going on this week. I have successfully cut myself down to one 12 oz can of soda a day. Next week I start my diet......I am hoping I don't starve to death....right now that is looking like a possibility. But this week I did lose 7 pounds just by cutting back on all my coke drinking. I was kinda excited about that! Anyway, I don't have anything else really exciting to share. I just thought I'd share all of this. It's been a little while since I last blogged. Oh and the picture above is from a photoshoot I did with my friend Ashley. That's her wedding dress....we did some pretty pictures in it and then we trashed it. It was a blast! I'll add a pretty picture or two at the bottom for your viewing pleasure!
